After the success of the 1st WorldDMB interoperability workshop in November 2013, the 2nd Interoperability workshop took place prior to the 48th Technical Committee meeting, in the premises of IRT in Munich.


Representatives from 20 different companies attended the workshop that included car manufacturers, equipment makers, broadcasters and broadcast organisations such as the EBU.

During the workshop, up to 5 parallel test transmissions were on air. With the help of devices and test signals, the participants focused on testing:

– service following and linking
– announcements
– multiplex reconfigurations
– character tests
– ther features

Besides the intensive testing which was done during the workshop, many relevant topics were discussed among participants, including the newest DAB developments, actual transmissions and the technical challenges of real life DAB.
