The latest WorldDAB infographic highlighted the growing demand for receivers with DAB functionality for the home and in the car. As receivers sold in key digital markets grow to over 34 million across Europe and Asia Pacific, industries are collaborating to ensure they provide the right receivers for both new and developing markets. In this edition we explore how broadcasters, roll-out bodies and retailers work together to meet customer demand with examples from Australia, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. We also look forward to the 6th WorldDAB European Automotive Event where the spotlight will be on the efforts made within the automotive and radio industries to ensure radio does not lose its prominence on the dashboard.

Market Update: Asia Pacific Think Tank announced
Broadcasters and regulators in Asia Pacific countries actively exploring, trialling and moving towards a DAB+ broadcast future will be invited to a high level policy and regulatory Think Tank to be hosted by WorldDAB within the next 12 months. Announced at the recent ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium in Kuala Lumpur, WorldDAB will invite senior decision makers to work together to examine any roadblocks and provide solutions for the next steps to make DAB+ a reality in the region.
Technical Committee Update: Hybrid Radio has just got easier
One of the functions of the WorldDAB Technical Committee is to develop new specifications and guidelines in Task Forces and keep existing documents up to date. One Task Force that has just completed its work is “TF Hybrid Radio”, which has now been closed because the specifications it worked on have been published by ETSI.
