This year’s WorldDAB Award for Outstanding Service was awarded to Anthony Sethill, CEO of Frontier Silicon and past Vice-President of WorldDAB in recognition of Anthony’s contribution to the growth and development of the DAB standards across global markets over the last 15 years.
From 2001, Anthony successfully established Frontier Silicon as a strategic supplier of digital audio chips and modules to global consumer electronics brands. One of Anthony’s biggest achievements is the development of the “Chorus” family of digital radio chips which have now sold over 30 million units, making them the best-selling DAB solutions of all time.
The award was presented by WorldDAB Vice-President and Asia Pacific Chair, Joan Warner, CEO of Commercial Radio Australia. “He has combined technology expertise with strong commercial instincts – often providing much-needed impetus to motivate a diverse range of players from across the digital radio ecosystem. Anthony’s drive and commitment were key factors in enabling the successful launch of DAB+ in Australia and Germany.”
On receiving his award, Anthony said “I am delighted to accept this award – first and foremost as recognition for the efforts of the Frontier team over the last 15 years. Working closely with broadcast partners, our focus has always been on delivering high quality technology solutions and personalised support to customers. DAB digital radio is entering an important next phase in its development. I look forward to playing a continued role in its development.”
WorldDAB would like to congratulate Anthony and thank him for his outstanding service to the DAB family of standards.
