Podcast: DAB and radio in the car

At the WorldDAB General Assembly, Sam Bonham speaks to Andreas Goršak from JVCKENWOOD, Roger Lanctot from Strategy Analytics and Ron Schiffelers from NXP Semiconductors on the importance of DAB adoption in the automotive sector and the evolution of in-car entertainment.

The panel covers the automotive perception of DAB, development of new antenna solutions and the evolution of the connected car.

The podcast was recorded after the Panel in Session 5 at the General Assembly Panel which explored DAB in the connected and autonomous vehicle. It discussed how connected cars are making automotive manufacturers think more about exactly what their car will connect to in terms of entertainment. Radio is now under threat from the new connected vehicle, and possibly more so in the autonomous car. This panel discussed various views on DAB+ in the connected car today and the SWOT for digital radio in the autonomous vehicle of tomorrow.
